Qualifications for Participation

Bachelor’s and Master's Degrees

Bachelor’s and master’s degree candidates who plan to complete their coursework between December 2025 and by August 2026 are invited to participate in the May 2026 Commencement ceremonies. Under extenuating circumstances, candidates who do not meet this requirement may petition their home school/college(s) for permission to participate.

Doctoral Degrees

Doctoral candidates must have completed their degrees by April 2026 to participate.

It is the student’s responsibility to know and fulfill all degree requirements for graduation. Participation in Convocation and Commencement ceremonies does not indicate that degree requirements have been completed.

Students must file a diploma request form on MySlice (and update their addresses). Filing on MySlice activates the certification process and awarding of a degree.

Regalia and Etiquette

All degree candidates who are eligible to participate in Commencement or Convocations must secure regalia, including a cap, gown and tassel, prior to commencement weekend.

Commencement in the JMA Wireless Dome will accommodate all guests comfortably. While a spirit of joy and enthusiasm is encouraged, the dignity of this important occasion should not be devalued. Please be courteous to all speakers.
