Academic Procession Participation
Current and emeriti faculty are cordially invited to participate in the academic procession at the University’s Commencement on Sunday, May 11, 2025. Commencement is an all-University celebration, and faculty are an important part of this traditional academic ceremony. It means a great deal to the graduates and their families to have you share their accomplishment with them.
If you plan to participate in the academic procession at Commencement, please review the important details listed below and then register via the form linked below no later than April 11. Your registration will allow the Office of Major Events to confirm your participation and plan ample seating.

Parking
Please note, your home parking lot permit is not valid on Commencement Day. Prior to commencement week, all faculty who complete and submit the Faculty Academic Procession Participation Form will receive more details about parking for Commencement Day. Shuttle Service is also available for all attendees and participants throughout Commencement weekend.
Academic Regalia Required
If you do not have your own academic regalia and plan to participate in Commencement on Sunday, May 11, please contact the Office of Major Events at sucommencement@syr.edu. Orders for regalia for faculty that represent a university other than Syracuse University must be placed by April 4. After this date, faculty borrowing regalia will receive the Syracuse University PhD hood with a gown and tam.
Purchase Regalia
Faculty who prefer to purchase their own academic regalia should contact the Syracuse University Campus Store. Please allow a minimum of eight weeks for delivery.
